Abstract

This article examines Amanda Cross’s Death in a Tenured Position as a feminist detective novel that critiques patriarchal academic institutions. It argues that the narrative exposes the structural constraints faced by women in academia and reflects broader gender inequalities. Drawing on Kristeva’s theory, the study highlights the tension between dominant symbolic structures and female intellectual presence.
